The Creation is the masterpiece of sacred music - based on the texts of Genesis and the Psalms and from the Lost Paradise by John Milton - by Franz Joseph Haydn who composed it between 1795 and 1798, inspired by the great oratories of Handel heard in London. A monumental composition with orchestrations of superlative richness in which Haydn combines the splendor of classicism with the majesty of sacred music - in fact - Handelian, writing one of the most extraordinary pages of the repertoire of sacred music. Large chorus, momentum, powerful and refined music accompany the listener through the various phases of the biblical Creation, from the explosion of the first light to the marvelous air of the creation of man.
