"Storytelling primarily responds to a didactic design. We have long since initiated a collaboration between students and faculty of the Cherubini Conservatory and the Academy of Fine Arts, which presents itself as a nucleus of practical collaboration between the two institutions, with a view also to giving didactic, artistic and third mission meaning to the constituting Polytechnic of the Arts. The production of Elisir d'amore comes, then, after a year of didactic, technical and theoretical work on the function of theater and the functions in theater: with the students of singing, piano accompaniment practice, set design and theatrical costume design, we went on a journey of reflection on what it means to “do theater,” even today, even in this troubled moment of our history, before we all went into the text we were about to perform together."
