After the great audience success of the last summer with the staging of Rossini's "Il barbiere di Siviglia" the Cavea del Maggio open-air theatre on the Maggio's roof will be back with one of the most famous and loved operas of the melodramma "L'elisir d'amore" by Gaetano Donizetti.
On the podium Alessandro Bonato, who returns after his symphonic debut in September 2024, the direction of the new staging is signed by Roberto Catalano, for the first time at Maggio.
The director thought of a space that would dialogue in full harmony with the open space of the Cavea and its new stage and therefore he designed a contemporary urban park. Here will take place the plot of the opera showing right away, during the prelude, a little girl Adina playing on one of the swings in the park and that we will find shortly after, with a time jump given to music, adult and capricious (but we could understand why) to browse through the book where it tells the story of the love filter drunk by Tristan that gives inspiration to the whole story.
