"C'è musica e musica 2.0": Sunday, February 9th, at 11 am with Gaia Nanni

Gaia Nanni presents the show; on the podium, at the helm of the Maggio Orchestra, maestro Nima Keshavarzi. 
On the programme "Water Music" and "Music for the royal fireworks" by Georg Friedrich Händel in an arrangement by Sir Hamilton Harty and with lyrics by Manuela Critelli.

The audience will have direct access from the Theatre's Café (opening 9.30am) and, showing the ticket, will receive a counter for breakfast (included)

Florence, February 3rd 2025 Third appointment in the Maggio calendar for the concert cycle of “C'è musica & musica 2.0”, the crisp initiative to bring the younger audience closer to the world of theatre and the fascination of its performances.

On Sunday, February 9th at 11 am, in the Zubin Mehta Hall, "Water&Fire". On the podium, at the head of the Maggio Orchestra, maestro Nima Keshavarzi on his debut at Maggio. The story is presented and interpreted by actress Gaia Nanni.

The programme includes two compositions by Georg Friedrich Händel in an arrangement by Sir Hamilton Harty on text by Manuela Critelli.

The concert opens with a suite for orchestra from Music for the Royal Fireworks: written on commission by King George II of Great Britain, the pretext for this composition was the end of the Austrian War of Succession; The English king did not spare any expense and wanted to celebrate the event with great celebrations and fireworks. 

The lively morning ends with the suite for orchestra from Water Music , composed by Handel over the request of King George I who wanted a musical performance while his barge was sailing on the Thames.

On the podium, leading the Maggio Orchestra, maestro Nima Keshavarzi. He studied violin and composition at the "Conservatorio Cherubini" in Florence and at the Music School in Fiesole. He then studied conducting at the Florence Conservatory under Alessandro Pinzauti, and then attended the Accademia Chigiana in Siena under Gianluigi Gelmetti. Co-founder and music director of the Filharmonie - Orchestra Filarmonica di Firenze since 2016, in 2021 he conceived the International Composition Competition "Sinfonica Dante 700", of which he is musical director and artistic consultant. He has also collaborated with important theatres including the Teatro dell'Opera in Rome, the Teatro Regio in Parma and the Palau de les Arts in Valencia.

The show is presented by Gaia Nanni, already on stage in the last edition of C'è musica & musica that, for this occasion, says: “What awaits us is an extraordinary  morning! The Teatro del Maggio opens its doors to our children, to families in Florence and does so by reminding us that music is really for everyone: you can go to the theater even without evening clothes, without a special occasions but simply for breakfast holding hands with the little ones at home. On such a special occasion I could not stop at just one role so the Narrator will not be the only voice to break into this reading - concert, there will also be a girl named “Pascarella” escaped from the 18th century and arrived to us and a terrible ”Magistra" ready to make the audience tremble . And then Golden feathers, chocolates, whipped cream! You don’t believe it? I dare you! Come and party with us!".

Gaia Nanni, a Florentine actress who has been working in theatre research for over twenty years with particular attention to the world on social work, she received in 2013 her first mention at the UBU Awards as "Best Actress"; among the various awards recently received we remember the Montagnani Film Prize 2018; the Golden Torrino and the prestigious Pegaso Regione Toscana 2022.Attualmente is on tour with La Notte dei Bambini, a monologue dedicated to the Meyer pediatric hospital and the ethics of care, directed by Giuliana Musso.

Please note that thanks to the collaboration with Unicoop Firenze, in a space nearby the Café area of the Foyer, a place dedicated to young people is set up with stationery products from the ecological line "ViviVerde Coop" provides children with writing and drawing materials.
