Fondazione CR Firenze takes students from schools, free of charge, to the general rehearsals of symphonic concerts at the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino

A unique opportunity for secondary school students of 1st and 2nd degree to the prestigious Zubin Mehta Hall

The CR Firenze Foundation brings students of secondary schools of I and II degree, free of charge, to the general rehearsals of the symphonic concerts at the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino. The project "Fondazione CR Firenze invita le scuole al Maggio" is addressed to the institutions of the Metropolitan City of Florence and the provinces of Arezzo and Grosseto, in collaboration with the Regional School Office for Tuscany and the Fondazione Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, to offer the possibility of living an extraordinary musical experience. The aim is to bring young people closer to the world of classical music, allowing them to discover the work of great masters and the Orchestra del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, as well as meet the young musicians of the Orchestra of the School of Music in Fiesole.

THE PROGRAMME
The events will take place in the prestigious Sala Zubin Mehta of the Teatro del Maggio, with a calendar that includes four concerts by the Orchestra del Maggio and three performances by the Orchestra della Scuola di Musica di Fiesole. To guide the students in listening, each concert will be preceded by a short educational introduction starting at 9.15 am.

Among the planned performances:

• March 7th, 2025 - Michele Spotti conducts the Orchestra del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino with music by Schubert and Berlioz
• May 20th, 2025 - Antonino Siringo conducts the Orchestra dei Ragazzi della Scuola di Musica di Fiesole with music by Salieri, Beethoven, Haydn and Mozart
• May 30th, 2025 - Cornelius Meister and Monica Bacelli with Weber, Berio and Schumann
• June 5th, 2025 - Thomas Guggeis conducts Mozart and Prokofiev
• November 4th, 18th and 21st, 2025 - Concerts with music by Stravinsky, Mozart, Sibelius and Ravel

FACILITIES AND PARTICIPATION
In addition to the free participation, the CR Florence Foundation provides refunds and facilities for the transport of classes that will reach the theater by public transport.  Interested schools can book by writing to: [email protected], specifying the name of the school, the teacher and the number of students attending.
